Information Minister warns of a Houthi massacre against residents of “Hamah Sarar” village in Al Bayda province.

Yemeni Minister Warns of Imminent Houthi Massacre in Hamah Sarar Village

Threat of Violence Against Civilians

Yemen’s Minister of Information, Culture, and Tourism, Muammar al-Eryani, has issued a stark warning about the potential for a new massacre by the Houthi militia, backed by Iran, targeting civilians, including children and women, in the village of Hamah Sarar, located in the Wold Rabi’ district of Al Bayda province. This warning highlights a continuation of the systematic killings and entrenched terrorism the Houthis have inflicted on Yemenis since their coup, drawing parallels with the actions and crimes of the Israeli occupation against Palestinians in the occupied territories.

Houthi Militia’s Aggressive Campaign

According to al-Eryani, field reports indicate that the Houthi militia has launched a campaign, utilizing heavy weapons looted from state armories, including tanks, artillery, and Iranian-made drones, to storm the village of Hamah Sarar. This aggressive move comes days after Houthi elements killed two villagers at a checkpoint. Since their coup, the Houthi militia has attacked hundreds of unarmed villages across their forcibly controlled areas, escalating crimes and violations against civilians through murder, displacement, and the destruction of homes, in efforts to break the will of Yemenis and subject them to their coup project and extremist ideology imported from Iran.

Call for International Action

Al-Eryani has called on the international community, the United Nations, its special envoy, and human rights organizations for an explicit condemnation of these heinous crimes. He urges immediate action to classify the Houthi militia as a “global terrorist organization,” cut off its financial, political, and media resources, and concentrate efforts on supporting the government in political, economic, and military aspects to establish control and ensure security and stability throughout Yemen.

The alarming situation in Hamah Sarar underscores the urgent need for international intervention to prevent further atrocities and support Yemen’s path to peace and stability.
