Yemen’s President Extends Eid Greetings
In a significant address on the evening of Eid al-Adha, President Dr. Rashad Mohammed Alimi congratulated the Yemeni people on this sacred occasion. He expressed his hope that this Eid would mark the beginning of a new era characterized by peace, justice, and prosperity.
Message of Unity and Resilience
Speaking on behalf of the Presidential Leadership Council, Minister of Awqaf and Guidance Dr. Mohammed Shabeeb conveyed the President’s message. He stated, "We are delighted to extend our warmest wishes to you, the brave members of the armed forces, and all military formations. We pray that this Eid brings our nation the security, peace, and stability it seeks. May our future days be better than the past, and may our struggles and sacrifices lead to victory and the restoration of our state and national institutions."
Acknowledgment of Pilgrims
President Alimi also congratulated Yemeni pilgrims and Muslims worldwide for successfully completing their Hajj rituals. He praised the substantial efforts of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, led by King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, in serving the guests of Allah and ensuring their comfort and safety during the pilgrimage.
Condemnation of Houthi Actions
In his address, President Alimi highlighted the ongoing challenges posed by the Houthi militia, which he described as continuing its destructive and sectarian agenda under Iranian influence. He condemned their refusal to engage in peace efforts and their violations of human rights, including abductions, killings, and extortion.
Call for National Solidarity
The President urged the Yemeni people to recognize the consequences of the Houthi militia’s reckless actions, which have led to significant destruction, including the targeting of vital infrastructure. He emphasized that the state remains committed to prioritizing the welfare of civilians over false displays of sovereignty.
Commitment to Security and Stability
President Alimi reaffirmed the commitment of the Presidential Leadership Council and the legitimate government to work alongside national forces and political entities. Their focus remains on establishing security, providing services, improving living conditions, and restoring equitable state institutions.
Support for Palestine
On a broader Arab and national level, President Alimi reiterated Yemen’s unwavering support for the Palestinian cause. He condemned the ongoing atrocities committed by the Israeli occupation against the people of Gaza, calling for a strong international response to protect innocent civilians.
Conclusion and Well Wishes
In closing, President Alimi extended his heartfelt congratulations to all Yemenis, both at home and abroad. He prayed for mercy for the martyrs, healing for the wounded, and freedom for the detainees. He expressed his hope that this Eid would usher in a new phase of peace, justice, and prosperity for Yemen.
"Happy Eid to you all, and may Yemen thrive," he concluded.
