The Houthi militia has resumed shelling populated villages in the coastal region of Al-Haimah, located south of Al-Hudaydah Province. This escalation follows a recent attack that resulted in the death and injury of a child and a woman.
Local authorities in Al-Hudaydah reported that on Monday, the Houthi militia targeted various villages in the Al-Haimah area with mortar shells. Local sources confirmed that ten shells struck residential areas, causing widespread panic among the local population and displaced families residing in nearby camps.
This incident marks a continuation of violence against civilians in the region along the Red Sea coast. Just four days prior, a similar attack led to the tragic death of a child and injuries to a woman in one of the local villages. These repeated assaults highlight the ongoing threat posed by Houthi forces to innocent civilians in the area.
The resurgence of attacks by the Houthi militia underscores the urgent need for international attention and humanitarian assistance in Al-Hudaydah. As violence escalates, the safety and well-being of vulnerable populations remain at significant risk.
