Local sources reported that a group of Houthi militants, present at Al-Thawra General Hospital, launched a savage assault on fifth-level medical students from Ibb University on Saturday. The students were at the hospital for their practical training when the violence erupted.

Incident Escalates from Verbal to Physical Assault

The situation escalated when one of the students advised a Houthi member, part of the hospital’s security, to lower the volume of the music he was playing, which was disturbing patients and visitors. This advice led to a verbal altercation that quickly turned physical. The Houthi guard called in five additional militants who stormed the hospital and began beating the student and his peers with sticks and rifle butts, resulting in severe injuries including a broken arm for one of the students, all in full view of patients and hospital staff.

Sources highlighted that the hospital’s management and security did not take any action against the Houthi elements, despite their history of assaulting employees and patients in similar incidents.
