The Higher Authority for Medicines and Medical Supplies has released Circular No. 6 for the year 2026, directed at pharmaceutical manufacturers, companies, and medical supply importers. This circular mandates the clear display of official prices on all medication and medical supply packaging.
The circular specifies that each pharmaceutical product must have its official price printed or affixed clearly on every unit (package). The displayed price must align with the rates that have been approved by the authority. Furthermore, the authority emphasizes that the price should be easily readable and visible to consumers, ensuring that patients can make informed purchasing decisions.
The authority has warned that legal actions will be initiated against any individuals or entities that fail to comply with these regulations. Offenders may face referral to appropriate authorities for further action. Compliance with the circular is required to begin within a maximum period of one month from the date of issuance. The authority urges all relevant parties to adhere to these guidelines to promote stability in the pharmaceutical market and protect citizens’ rights.
This initiative is designed to enhance transparency in drug pricing, ensuring that consumers receive fair and consistent pricing for their medications and medical supplies. For more information, visit Yemen TV.
