Hadhramaut Governor Launches the New Academic Year 2024-2025

In a significant move towards educational advancement, the Governor of Hadhramaut, Mabkhout bin Madi, inaugurated the new academic year 2024-2025 for primary and secondary schools across the province on Sunday.

A Visit Marking the Beginning

During his visit to Al-Sayyida Zainab Girls’ Basic Education School and Nasser Lotah Boys’ School in the city of Mukalla, Governor Mabkhout bin Madi highlighted the importance of launching the new academic year under the stable and secure conditions prevailing in Hadhramaut. This step symbolizes the culmination of the local authority’s, educational leaders’, and the education sector’s diligent efforts to prepare and announce the return-to-school program, marking the start of a hopeful and vibrant academic year.

Commendation and Expectations

The Governor praised the high level of student attendance and the smooth operation of the educational process on the first day, adhering to the academic calendar. This reflects a collective awareness and determination about the significance of education. He regarded education as a noble mission to forge an informed and knowledgeable generation, expressing his hope for a year filled with achievements in the education sector and other developmental and service sectors. He emphasized the need for concerted efforts to make the new academic year successful.

Enrollment Figures

The new academic year sees a total of 335,868 students enrolled in 866 primary and secondary schools across Hadhramaut’s directorates, indicating a significant engagement in the region’s educational initiatives.

This move by the Governor of Hadhramaut not only underscores the importance of education in societal development but also sets a positive tone for the academic and developmental journey ahead.
