The Governor of Hadhramaut, Mabkhout bin Madi, held discussions today in the city of Mukalla with a delegation from the United Nations Office for Project Services (UNOPS) regarding the progress of service projects in Mukalla specifically and Hadhramaut in general.
The meeting, which included the Secretary-General of the local council in the governorate, Saleh Al-Amri, the Deputy Governor for Technical Affairs, Engineer Amin Barzeq, the Director of the Urban Cities and Human Capital Project at UNOPS, Fayad Rasool, the Program Advisor for UNOPS in Yemen, Dr. Khaldoun Saleh, the Deputy Director of the Human Capital Project and the Coordinator of Water and Sanitation Projects, Engineer Abdulwahab Salah, and the Civil Engineer and Representative of the organization in the eastern governorates, Engineer Ahmed Abid Al-Maysari, focused on identifying the urgent and necessary needs. These included supporting the Public Corporation for Water and Sanitation in the coastal region of Hadhramaut, the Cleanliness and Improvement Fund, implementing safe exit plans, mitigating the effects of climate changes faced by Hadhramaut, and enhancing civil defense and disaster response capabilities.
Additionally, the meeting reviewed the urgent needs for the electricity, health, and roads sectors.
The Governor of Hadhramaut praised UNOPS for its quality interventions and its focus on vital sectors.
