The Security Committee in Hadhramaut has reaffirmed that maintaining the province’s security and stability is a national responsibility that cannot be compromised. The committee emphasized that public peace and civil tranquility are red lines that must remain intact under any circumstances.
In a statement published on the local authority’s website, the committee, led by Hadramout Governor Salem Ahmed Al-Khanbashi, expressed its keen interest in monitoring the situation in the province. The committee highlighted that freedom of expression is a fundamental right guaranteed by the constitution, applicable laws, and international charters. This right is a priority for local authorities, as it forms a cornerstone of community participation.
The statement stressed that the Security Committee prioritizes the preservation of security, stability, and public peace. The committee will not tolerate any actions that threaten citizens’ safety, disrupt their interests, or violate public order. Furthermore, it is committed to protecting both public and private property from any harm.
The committee asserted that exercising the right to freedom of expression must comply with existing laws. Such practices should not jeopardize security or endanger social peace. It is crucial to prevent the misuse of gatherings for purposes that fall outside the realm of responsible, peaceful expression.
The committee announced that it will address any events or movements in accordance with the law. It will implement strict and deterrent measures against anyone attempting to disrupt the province’s security, intimidate citizens, or act outside legal boundaries. The primary goal of the Security Committee remains to uphold Hadramaut as a land of peace and harmony.
