Graduation Ceremony for Emergency Obstetrics and Neonatology Diploma Holders in Aden

The Yemeni Council for Medical and Health Specialties organized a graduation ceremony today in Aden, the temporary capital of Yemen. This event, coordinated with the Population Sector of the Ministry of Public Health and Population, celebrated the achievements of 150 graduates from specialized diploma programs in emergency obstetrics and neonatology.

Overview of the Diploma Programs

Over the past year, the council implemented these specialized diploma programs with support from the Yaman Foundation for Health and Social Development and funding from the German Development Bank. Graduates hailed from various provinces, including 80 from Aden, 50 from Mukalla, and 20 from Marib. They received hands-on training from qualified professionals at several health institutions.

Minister of Health’s Call for Collaboration

Dr. Qasem Baheeb, the Minister of Public Health and Population, urged partners to follow the Yaman Foundation’s lead in designing similar diploma programs. He emphasized the importance of applying the knowledge and skills gained during training to real-world scenarios. This call to action highlights the need for continuous improvement in Yemen’s healthcare system.

Insights from the General Coordinator

Dr. Rajea Salem, the General Coordinator of the Yemeni Council for Medical and Health Specialties, provided an overview of the various stages involved in preparing for these specialized diploma programs. She detailed the efforts made to ensure the quality and relevance of the training in emergency obstetrics, anesthesia, resuscitation, and surgical technology.

Recognition of Contributions

During the ceremony, the Minister of Health and the Population Sector Undersecretary received excellence awards for their contributions. Additionally, several individuals who played a significant role in the success of the emergency obstetrics and neonatology diploma programs were honored.

This graduation ceremony marks a significant step forward in enhancing Yemen’s healthcare workforce, equipping professionals with the necessary skills to address critical health challenges.
