Governor Launches Asphalt Project for Aden-Lahij Road
Lahij, Yemen – Today, Governor Murad Al-Halimi officially launched the asphalt project for the Aden-Lahij road. This initiative follows the road’s rehabilitation and is part of the local authority’s 2026 development program. The project is a collaborative effort involving the Ministry of Public Works and Roads and the Road Maintenance Fund.

Governor Al-Halimi emphasized that this project represents a practical approach by the provincial leadership to enhance the road network and improve its efficiency. Engineer Riyad Hassan, the Director General of the General Authority for Roads and Bridges in Lahij, noted that the asphalt work marks a continuation of the project’s practical steps. Following the launch of excavation work a month ago, the project has now advanced to the asphalt layer application phase.
