German police announced today the arrest of a suspect following a fire at the Eagle’s Nest resort in Bavaria, southern Germany.
Authorities reported that a suspect was temporarily detained after firefighters indicated that the building was fully engulfed in flames upon their arrival. Emergency teams reached the site at 9:52 PM on Friday, confronting a significant blaze in the facility located in a remote mountainous area.
Police spokesperson Lisa Meyer stated that firefighters faced difficulties in controlling the fire due to the building’s elevation of 1,834 meters above sea level.
The police confirmed that criminal investigations are ongoing to determine the circumstances and causes of the fire.
