Today, Marib University in the Al-Jawf Governorate kicked off four specialized media training courses aimed at enhancing the skills of 100 journalists and media professionals. The initiative targets students and graduates from the university’s media department, as well as employees from various media organizations across the region. This program is organized by the university’s Vice Presidency for Student Affairs in collaboration with the Faculty of Arts and Humanities, with support from the Masam project for landmine clearance in Yemen.
The four courses, spanning five days, cover topics such as peace journalism, digital journalism, radio and television presentation, and podcast production. Participants will gain essential knowledge and skills to enhance their professional capabilities. Furthermore, these courses aim to empower attendees to utilize modern technologies effectively, enabling them to create impactful and purposeful media content.
Dr. Ali Al-Rimah, Vice President for Student Affairs, and Dr. Abdurrahman Muftah, Deputy Governor of Marib, emphasized the significance of these training sessions in developing journalists’ skills in today’s information-driven society. They acknowledged that media serves as a cornerstone of modern society and plays a crucial role in knowledge dissemination and public opinion formation.
Both officials highlighted the need for media professionals to possess diverse skills, critical thinking abilities, and creative insights. They stressed the importance of understanding modern technological tools to deliver meaningful and influential media content. As the media landscape evolves, these competencies will become increasingly vital for effective communication and engagement.
