FIFA Allocates $1 Million for Earthquake Relief in Venezuela

The International Football Federation (FIFA) has announced a donation of $1 million through its charitable foundation to support relief efforts following the devastating earthquakes that recently struck Venezuela. This initiative forms part of a broader humanitarian effort aimed at assisting those affected by this natural disaster.

Details of FIFA’s Support

FIFA revealed this support during the 2026 World Cup matches held in the United States, Mexico, and Canada. During these matches, a moment of silence honored the victims, whose number has reached 3,811. This gesture reflects the global football community’s commitment to aiding affected communities.

In its official statement, FIFA clarified that the funds will provide urgent humanitarian assistance. Additionally, part of this financial aid will support emergency response efforts and help affected communities begin the recovery process.

Message from FIFA President

FIFA President Gianni Infantino commented on this initiative, stating, “The people of Venezuela have the full solidarity of the global football family during this difficult time.” He emphasized that football has the power to unite and instill hope during crises.

Infantino further noted that FIFA stands alongside the Venezuelan people, supporting humanitarian organizations and local partners who tirelessly work to deliver urgent assistance to those in need. This approach highlights the significant role sports play in supporting communities during challenging times.

Importance of Humanitarian Support

FIFA’s allocation of $1 million underscores the critical importance of humanitarian aid in the face of natural disasters. The primary goal is to provide swift assistance to those affected and help them recover from the impacts of the earthquakes. This type of support serves as a vital step in strengthening human connections and offering hope to devastated communities.

In this context, numerous humanitarian organizations are collaborating with FIFA to distribute aid in the hardest-hit areas, contributing to the rebuilding of daily life for those impacted.
