Education Minister launches a conference on Administrative Sciences and Sustainable Development in Aden.

Yemen's Higher Education Minister Inaugurates International Conference on Administrative Sciences and Sustainable Development

In a significant move towards fostering academic and scientific growth, Dr. Khaled Ahmed Al-Wasabi, the Minister of Higher Education, Scientific Research, Technical Education, and Vocational Training, inaugurated the first International Scientific Conference under the theme “Administrative Sciences and Sustainable Development – Reality and Ambition.” This pivotal event, organized by the College of Administrative and Human Sciences at the University of Science and Technology in Aden, Yemen’s temporary capital, marks a milestone in the country’s academic endeavors.

A Reflective Gathering of Minds

The conference, attended by Mohammed Al-Ashwal, the Minister of Industry and Trade, alongside numerous heads of public and private universities, ministry deputies, and directors, highlighted the recent surge in scientific conferences across Yemeni universities. Minister Al-Wasabi pointed out this trend as a testament to the academic leadership’s growing awareness of scientific research as a fundamental pillar for the scientific and civilizational advancement of society.

Commitment to Academic Excellence

Minister Al-Wasabi reaffirmed the ministry’s dedication to participating in and supporting various scientific conferences aimed at stimulating these academic forums and leveraging their outcomes to enhance the performance of higher education institutions. He announced the commencement of preparations for the first Student Scientific Conference, which will discuss a wide array of scientific research from postgraduate students both domestically and internationally. In addition, he revealed plans to open competition for 50 research scholarships for professors at public universities, demonstrating a robust commitment to fostering academic research and development.

An Impressive Assembly of Research and Collaboration

The three-day conference boasts the participation of 115 researchers, with 75 research papers submitted in both Arabic and English. Of these submissions, 68 were accepted after a rigorous review process conducted by 27 scholars and specialists from Yemeni and Arab universities. The event also saw participation from 14 Yemeni and 15 Arab universities, showcasing a wide array of academic collaboration and research excellence aimed at exploring the realms of administrative sciences and sustainable development.

This conference not only serves as a platform for academic exchange but also as a beacon of hope for the future of scientific research and development in Yemen and the Arab world, fostering a collaborative environment for scholars to contribute towards sustainable development goals.
