Marib’s security director, Major General Yahya Ali Hamid, announced significant progress in the fight against Houthi cells and sabotage networks. These groups aimed to undermine security and stability in the region. Through coordinated efforts with the military, intelligence, and state security, the operations have effectively dismantled dangerous networks, enhancing safety in Marib.
General Hamid highlighted that proactive measures implemented over the past few years have reduced the activities of hostile elements by up to 80%. Despite facing substantial challenges, including the influx of millions of displaced persons, security efforts have produced tangible results.
The general pointed out that Houthi cells employed various camouflage techniques to carry out their sabotage activities. They often used women, children, beggars, and laborers as covers, alongside relying on forged identities. Nevertheless, surveillance and monitoring operations successfully uncovered these activities.
General Hamid emphasized that all actions taken adhere to legal frameworks and involve full coordination with judicial authorities. He praised the role of security agencies, local authorities, tribal leaders, and the community in achieving these successes, which have significantly contributed to stability and security in Marib.
