In a significant meeting held today in Aden, the temporary capital of Yemen, Deputy Minister of Human Rights Nabil Abdulhafeez engaged with a delegation from the Finnish organization Martti Ahtisaari Centre. The discussions focused on the implementation of the organization’s programs aimed at promoting security and peace in the Middle East and North Africa, particularly in Yemen.
Delegation Highlights Organizational Efforts
The meeting included key representatives from the organization, such as Julia Beckhardt, Henrietta Toivonen, the organization’s advisor in Yemen, and Dr. Yasar Al-Qatarneh, the regional advisor. They elaborated on the organization’s mission and the various activities it conducts to foster peace and enhance security and stability in the region.
Yemeni Government’s Stance on Human Rights Violations
Deputy Minister Abdulhafeez provided an overview of the current situation in Yemen. He highlighted the severe human rights violations perpetrated by the Houthi militia, which is backed by the Iranian regime. Furthermore, he outlined the Yemeni government’s efforts to counter these crimes, end the Houthi coup, restore state institutions, and normalize public life.
