Today, Minister of Defense Lieutenant General Dr. Taher Al-Aqili held a pivotal meeting with leaders of the popular resistance from the provinces of Sana’a, Amran, and Saada. The discussion centered on the latest developments on the battlefield and strategies to enhance military readiness in the ongoing effort to restore the state.
At the outset of the meeting, Minister Al-Aqili conveyed greetings from the political leadership, including President Dr. Rashad Mohammed Al-Alimi, the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, and members of the Presidential Leadership Council. He commended Major General Sultan Al-Aradah, a member of the Presidential Council and Governor of Marib, for his unwavering support of the popular resistance since the conflict’s inception.
The Minister acknowledged the heroic contributions of the popular resistance in the national battle. He emphasized that their actions have been vital in countering the Houthi terrorist militias from the very beginning. Al-Aqili underscored that the sacrifices made by these fighters have been consistently recognized by both political and military leaders.
Al-Aqili highlighted a transformative phase in the military landscape, stating that all military formations are now operating under a unified command and decision-making structure. This newfound unity is expected to significantly enhance the chances of achieving victory. The Minister urged all forces to maintain solidarity and actively participate in the liberation process alongside other national entities.
Furthermore, Al-Aqili noted the evolving partnership with the Arab coalition, led by Saudi Arabia, expressing gratitude for their supportive stance towards Yemen. He remarked on the considerable advancements in the armed forces in Marib, particularly in training, planning, and preparation, asserting that these developments are foundational to the national battle to reclaim the capital, Sana’a.
In his closing remarks, the Minister reaffirmed the Ministry of Defense’s commitment to addressing the needs of the army and the popular resistance, emphasizing the importance of overcoming challenges to strengthen and build the military institution. He stated that the upcoming phase demands collective efforts to ensure security and stability across the nation.
In response, leaders of the popular resistance from Sana’a, Amran, and Saada reiterated their commitment to supporting the army until victory is secured and the state is restored. Mansour Al-Hanq, a Member of Parliament and Head of the Popular Resistance Council in Sana’a, stated, “The councils of resistance will remain loyal to all the sacrifices made by the people in the national battle against the Houthi terrorist militias.” He expressed appreciation for the attention given by political and military leadership to the popular resistance.
This meeting underscores the ongoing commitment to unity and resilience in the face of adversity, as Yemen continues its struggle for sovereignty and stability.
