Recent Statements Highlight Optimism for Restoring the Capital
Tarik Saleh, a member of the Presidential Leadership Council, expressed strong confidence in the imminent victory of Yemen’s national battle to reclaim the state and its historical capital, Sana’a. During his visit to the Al-Barah front on Friday, he assessed military readiness and extended Ramadan greetings to the troops. Saleh emphasized that both international and local changes signal a path to victory, stating, “We have no option but to win or bury ourselves in this land.”
Houthi Forces Declared Unsustainable
Saleh asserted that the Houthi movement faces inevitable decline, regardless of its attempts to showcase Iranian missiles. He described the Houthi project as inherently flawed and unsustainable, urging readiness among Yemeni forces. He noted that the Houthi group has become exposed to the international community, which once supported it. This support previously hindered the liberation of the city of Al-Hudaydah through the Stockholm Agreement, a deal that has now become a burden for the world.
International Intervention and Its Consequences
Saleh recounted a pivotal moment when Yemeni forces, including the National Resistance and the Giants Brigades, stood at the gates of Al-Hudaydah. He criticized the international community for intervening to save Houthi militias, claiming it falsely celebrated achieving peace in the region. In reality, this intervention allowed the Houthis to regroup, rearm, and target international shipping and neighboring countries, including Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates.
Houthi Manipulation of Current Events
Despite the Houthi’s attempts to leverage the Gaza conflict for mobilization, Saleh pointed out that their true nature has been revealed to the Yemeni people. He emphasized that the Houthis represent a destructive agenda serving Iranian interests. He highlighted the disparity in their military claims, stating, “Last month, the Houthis announced 2,500 missiles and drones aimed at the sea and Israel, yet they have not killed a single Israeli. Meanwhile, a mortar shell in Hays has claimed the lives of dozens of civilians.”
A Call to Unity and Resistance
In his address to various fronts, including Al-Hudaydah, Taiz, Marib, Shabwa, and Al-Jawf, Saleh reiterated that victory is inevitable. He underscored the weakness of Iranian proxies and reaffirmed his commitment to national unity. “Every fighter on any front against the Iranian project and its tools (the Houthi terrorist militia) fights alongside us,” he stated. He clarified that resistance transcends political parties or ideologies, welcoming all who oppose the Houthis, regardless of their affiliations.
Tarik Saleh’s remarks reflect a determined stance against the Houthi movement and a call for unity among Yemeni forces. His emphasis on military readiness and the need for collective resistance resonates with the ongoing struggle for Yemen’s sovereignty and stability. As the situation evolves, the commitment to reclaiming the capital and restoring the nation remains a priority for Saleh and his allies.
