Tarik Saleh, a member of the Presidential Leadership Council, praised Taiz’s pivotal role in Yemen’s battle to restore state authority. Saleh believes that replicating this model can lead to the defeat of Houthi terrorism through unified efforts and a shared focus on common goals.
Today, Saleh, alongside Speaker of Parliament Sultan al-Barakani, welcomed a delegation from Taiz, which included political, civil, and community leaders. The meeting took place at Al-Mokha International Airport. Saleh reaffirmed that Taiz serves as the heartbeat of Yemen and consistently leads revolutions and liberation efforts.
Saleh reiterated that the defeat of the Houthis is closer than ever. He pointed out that recent developments indicate the diminishing local, regional, and international roles that have supported the Houthis. The global consensus now leans towards eliminating this threat. He also noted that the Iranian axis of evil is nearing its end, having failed Palestine and exploited the Palestinian cause to further Iran’s expansionist agenda, which has destabilized Arab nations while avoiding direct confrontation with the West.
In his remarks, Saleh urged for unity and the resolution of internal disputes. He stressed the importance of self-reliance in Yemen’s liberation, stating, “If we believe that others will free us without awakening our own will, there is no benefit.” He highlighted the necessity for Yemenis to take the initiative in leading the liberation struggle, recalling Taiz’s early efforts in breaking the Houthi project through self-driven actions.
Saleh called for a model of unity among the people of Taiz to confront the Houthis effectively. He asserted that the shared objective is to restore state institutions and the republican system, grounded in the principles of the September and October revolutions. He urged Taiz leaders and dignitaries to work towards overcoming the challenges facing the Sheikh Zayed Water Project for the city, emphasizing that completing this project would pave the way for additional service initiatives for the residents of Taiz and its countryside.
In closing, Saleh underscored the necessity of eradicating the imamate project both militarily and ideologically. His remarks resonate with the urgent need for collective action and self-determination in Yemen’s ongoing struggle for freedom and stability.
