A Strategic Maritime Tour
Today, Tarik Saleh, a member of the Presidential Leadership Council, conducted a maritime tour in Yemen’s territorial waters and the liberated islands in the Red Sea. The visit aimed to assess the readiness of naval units deployed to secure these vital areas.
Exploring Key Locations
Saleh’s tour included the islands of the Hanish Archipelago, specifically Seel, Hanish Al-Kubra, and Hanish Al-Sughra, as well as Zaqr Island. He moved between the positions of the First and Second Marine Infantry Brigades, gathering insights into their operational capabilities.
Commending Naval Readiness
During his visit, Saleh praised the high level of military readiness, discipline, and combat spirit exhibited by the naval forces. He highlighted their significant achievements over recent months, particularly in combating arms smuggling and other illicit activities linked to the Houthi militia. Notably, the forces intercepted a large shipment of advanced weaponry, including ballistic and cruise missile components, drones, a sophisticated naval radar system, modern jamming technology, and jet engines used in cruise missiles and suicide drones.
Continuous Development of Naval Forces
Saleh emphasized that the naval forces are undergoing continuous development. He stated that the buildup of military strength aligns with a strategic plan tailored to meet the demands of the ongoing national struggle. This struggle aims to restore the state and its historical capital, Sana’a, while dismantling the Houthi narrative of governance.
Encouraging Ongoing Training
The council member urged naval personnel to persist in their training and qualification efforts. He underscored the importance of their presence and deployment in securing Yemen’s territorial waters and liberated islands in the Red Sea, including the Hanish Archipelago and Zaqr Island. This commitment will bolster public confidence in the eventual restoration of law and order, the liberation of Sana’a, and the defeat of the Houthi coup, regardless of how long it may take.
Accompanying Officials
Saleh’s visit included key military figures, such as Major General Sadiq Duwaid, a member of the Joint Military Committee; Walid Al-Qudaimi, the First Deputy Governor of Al-Hudaydah; Major General Bahij Al-Ramadi, commander of the First Marine Infantry Brigade; Major General Abdullah Fakhri, commander of the Second Marine Infantry Brigade; Major General Fouad Jahannam, commander of the Second Tihama Brigade; and Colonel Ahmed Ghanem, Chief of Staff of the Fourth Tihama Brigade.
This visit highlights the ongoing commitment of Yemen’s leadership to enhance maritime security and combat threats in the region.
