On Tuesday, President Dr. Rashad Mohammed Alimi, head of the Presidential Leadership Council, convened a meeting with members of the Hadhramaut bloc in the House of Representatives. The discussion focused on the latest developments in the province and the ongoing efforts to address the legitimate demands of its residents across various sectors.
The meeting included Vice President of the House of Representatives Mohsen Basura and members Omar Al-Amoudi, Saleh Al-Amri, Mohammed Bin Malik, Said Douman, Suleiman Al-Mohamadi, and Fouad Waked. President Alimi expressed his deep appreciation for the people of Hadhramaut and their political and social components. He emphasized their commitment to the province’s interests and their active role in decision-making.
President Alimi reaffirmed the Presidential Leadership Council’s and the government’s dedication to meeting the legitimate demands of Hadhramaut’s citizens. He stated that this loyal province will always serve as a driving force for the state, development, and peace, remaining central to ongoing reforms supported by regional and international allies.
The President reiterated that the plan to normalize conditions in Hadhramaut and respond to its residents’ needs represents a national commitment within the framework of comprehensive reforms. This includes implementing vital projects, particularly in the electricity sector, and integrating local citizens into civil, military, and security institutions in accordance with the law.
President Alimi praised the recent statement from the parliamentary bloc and other Hadhramaut components, considering them responsible reference documents for normalizing conditions in the province.
He highlighted that the service, security, and developmental demands of Hadhramaut’s residents remain a top priority for the Presidential Leadership Council, the government, and relevant committees. The President welcomed the participation of the parliamentary bloc and Hadhramaut’s competencies in providing advice and contributing to oversight efforts, promoting an inclusive vision free from exclusion or marginalization.
President Alimi commended the efforts of Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates for their significant developmental and humanitarian support in Hadhramaut and other provinces.
The President expressed confidence in Hadhramaut’s elite to support the armed forces and security, playing a more effective role in coordinating calm among all parties. He urged respect for the right to peaceful protest in accordance with the law and constitution, while safeguarding both private and public property. He emphasized the importance of maintaining Hadhramaut as a model of security, stability, development, and the rule of law.
Dr. Yahya Al-Shaibi, Director of the Presidential Office, also attended the meeting.
