Marib, Yemen – Today, Sultan Al-Araada, a member of the Presidential Leadership Council and Governor of Marib, met with Minister of Information, Culture, and Tourism, Moammar Al-Eryani. The two officials discussed the current state of media in Yemen and its role in addressing contemporary challenges while promoting a unified national message.
During the meeting, Al-Araada emphasized the need for a unified media discourse that reflects national responsibility. He highlighted that such a discourse should support state institutions and foster national cohesion. Furthermore, he stressed the importance of media adapting to ongoing developments in the country. The media must play an active role in informing the public and conveying facts with professionalism and objectivity.
Al-Araada pointed out that the current phase demands a responsible media approach that enhances national consensus and partnership among various political factions. He urged media outlets to avoid trivial disputes that do not serve the public interest. According to him, national media plays a crucial role in confronting challenges, raising societal awareness, and countering misinformation and rumors.
The governor also called for improving media performance and fostering collaboration among official media institutions. He advocated for leveraging digital platforms and working as a cohesive team to build citizen trust and address national issues effectively.
In response, Minister Al-Eryani expressed his appreciation for Al-Araada’s ongoing support for the media sector. He stated that the governor’s directives serve as motivation to intensify efforts and enhance media performance to meet current demands and serve national interests.
Al-Eryani noted that the ministry is committed to implementing programs and plans aimed at developing official media discourse. He emphasized the importance of enhancing coordination among media institutions to establish a unified national narrative. This narrative will help counter misleading campaigns and strengthen national unity, as well as support efforts to restore the state and promote development.
The meeting underscores the critical role of media in Yemen’s current landscape, highlighting the need for a collaborative approach to address challenges and foster national unity.
