Sultan Al-Aradah: Houthi Militias Have Imposed War, Focus on Restoring Yemen and State Institutions

Sultan Al-Aradah, a member of the Presidential Leadership Council and Governor of Marib, emphasized that the Presidential Leadership Council and the government have made significant efforts over the past years to achieve peace and protect lives. He noted that they have made substantial concessions to end the war and establish stability. However, he stated that the Houthi terrorist militias have led the peace process to a dead end, forcing the Yemeni people back into war.

In a special television interview with Saba TV, Al-Aradah explained, “Since 2022, the Presidential Leadership Council has made peace the cornerstone of a new phase, driven by a commitment to the Yemeni people, the preservation of blood, and the establishment of security and stability.” He highlighted that these efforts received support from allies, particularly the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, along with Oman, the United Nations, and several friendly nations.

Houthi Rejection of Peace Efforts

Al-Aradah added that the Houthi militias, with their ideologies and practices, have rejected peace efforts and re-engaged Yemen in war. He asserted that the current situation necessitates addressing a new reality focused on restoring the state and ending the control of terrorist militias.

He stressed that the current priority is to restore state institutions and liberate Yemen from terrorist militias, especially the Houthis. He affirmed that this goal reflects the will of the people, which cannot be reversed or overlooked.

Military Engagement and Future Prospects

Regarding the military fronts, Al-Aradah confirmed that the armed forces are fulfilling their legal and constitutional duties across various combat zones imposed on the Yemeni people. He stated that they continue to uphold their responsibilities in protecting legitimacy, expressing hope that the coming days will bring positive developments for Yemenis.

Concerning the situation in Marib, Al-Aradah noted that the province represents one of the main battlefronts. He stated that its forces focus solely on victory and supporting the Yemeni people across different fronts. He emphasized that the ultimate goal for the fronts in Marib and beyond is to reclaim the capital, Sana’a.

Commitment to the Cause

Al-Aradah declared, “This goal will remain steadfast despite the sacrifices, as the forces and leaders on these fronts embody the will of the Yemeni people and bear a historical responsibility to defend the state and national dignity.”

He expressed sorrow over recent events on the coast, describing them as painful and regrettable. He pointed out that such incidents are part of the nature of battles, which often involve cycles of advance and retreat. He noted that the nature of wars includes failures, setbacks, and victories, which have been witnessed throughout history. He assured that these occurrences will not divert attention from the primary objective and will not deter Yemenis from continuing their sacred struggle.

Support for Displaced Individuals

Al-Aradah expressed confidence in the leaders present and their significant efforts in managing the battle. He mentioned that several military personnel have arrived in Marib, where a camp has been prepared for them. He also highlighted the necessary arrangements made to accommodate displaced individuals from the coast, ensuring their needs are met and providing suitable conditions for them.

He affirmed that those coming from the coast will find a welcoming environment in Marib, stating, “They are among their brothers, and the people of the province will stand by them as equals in rights and duties.”

Al-Aradah added that the forces that withdrew are currently reorganizing and will return to the battle in one form or another.

National Responsibility and Unity

Al-Aradah pointed out that the popular alignment across various provinces reflects a high level of national responsibility. He clarified that the Yemeni people do not merely wait for the armed forces to fulfill their duties; they actively participate in the battle to restore the state by providing manpower, weapons, vehicles, and resources earned through their hard work.

He praised the brotherly positions of Arab allies, particularly the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. He confirmed that Saudi Arabia provides substantial support to the Yemeni people in various fields and stands by constitutional legitimacy and the will of the Yemeni people, in addition to supporting efforts to overcome the current challenges facing the country.

He emphasized that this support reflects a strong brotherly stance towards Yemen and aligns with the aspirations of Yemenis to restore their state and achieve security, stability, and prosperity under a just government.

A Call to Protect Youth

In a message to the Yemeni people living under Houthi control, Al-Aradah urged parents and families to protect their children and not allow the militias to drag them into battles. He stated, “I hope they do not send their misled children to the slaughterhouses of death,” urging the Yemeni people to recognize the dangers of continuing to push youth into combat zones.

Al-Aradah reiterated that the current phase requires all Yemenis to stand up to their national responsibilities and support the option of restoring the state and ending the coup, which would put an end to the suffering of the people and pave the way for building a secure, stable, and prosperous Yemen.
