Sheikh Osman Majali, a member of the Presidential Leadership Council, expressed profound sorrow over the death of Sheikh Zaid Muhammad Abu Ali. The prominent political and social figure, who served as a member of the House of Representatives and the General Committee of the General People’s Congress, passed away on Thursday after a distinguished career dedicated to national service.
In a condolence message addressed to Sheikh Muhammad Abu Ali and the late leader’s sons, Osama, Muhammad, Yamdan, and Murad, Sheikh Majali praised the deceased’s virtues. He described Sheikh Zaid as a high-caliber republican figure who remained steadfast in his commitment to the principles and values of the revolution and the republic. Additionally, he noted Sheikh Zaid’s strong opposition to all forms of racism and sectarianism, emphasizing his unwavering national stances.
Sheikh Majali highlighted that Yemen has lost one of its most significant tribal, political, and parliamentary figures with the passing of Sheikh Zaid Abu Ali. The late leader uniquely resisted the Houthi militia’s agenda, showcasing his dedication to the nation.
Sheikh Zaid Abu Ali made notable contributions in both parliamentary and tribal spheres. As a member of the House of Representatives, he served as a courageous national voice, advocating for citizens’ issues and working to strengthen constitutional institutions. In the tribal domain, he acted as a wise mediator, resolving disputes and promoting social peace, thereby preserving the community’s fabric.
Sheikh Majali concluded his message by praying for Allah’s mercy upon the deceased and for him to be granted a place in paradise. He also wished patience and solace for the family, friends, and loved ones of Sheikh Zaid. “Indeed, we belong to Allah, and indeed, to Him we shall return.”
