Marib, Yemen – The Governor of Marib, Major General Sultan Ali Al-Aradah, recently engaged in discussions with a delegation from the Hadhramout Foundation for Cancer Control. The talks focused on the foundation’s various interventions, programs, and future project plans aimed at improving cancer care in the region.
During the meeting, Dr. Abdulqader Baizid, the president of the Hadhramout Foundation for Cancer Control, provided an in-depth explanation of the foundation’s projects and activities. He highlighted the services offered to cancer patients in Hadhramout and other provinces. Furthermore, he discussed the potential for expanding the foundation’s activities to include Marib, addressing the pressing healthcare needs of the area.
The delegation presented an initial proposal for the establishment of the “Hope Unit.” This initiative aims to create a specialized unit within Marib General Hospital, focusing on chemotherapy treatment for cancer patients. The foundation, in collaboration with local authorities and health agencies, is actively working to equip the unit with the necessary medical devices and qualified personnel.
In response to the discussions, Al-Aradah directed the formation of a joint committee. This committee will consist of local authority representatives, healthcare sector officials, the National Cancer Center, and members from the Hadhramout Foundation. Their goal will be to coordinate efforts to meet the needs of cancer patients in Marib effectively.
Major General Al-Aradah commended the Hadhramout Foundation for its humanitarian work in alleviating the suffering of cancer patients and their families. He expressed his full support for all humanitarian organizations, emphasizing the importance of creating a conducive environment for their operations. This support aims to enable these organizations to provide comprehensive and distinguished humanitarian services to the community.
Al-Aradah underscored the critical role that various humanitarian organizations play in enhancing the efforts of official state institutions. He noted that these organizations contribute significantly to alleviating citizens’ suffering and addressing their basic needs across different sectors during this challenging period.
