Sultan Al-Arada, a member of the Presidential Leadership Council, met today with Major General Sagheer Hamoud bin Azeez, the Chief of General Staff and Commander of Joint Operations. During this meeting, Al-Arada received a detailed report on the outcomes of bin Azeez’s recent trips to Saudi Arabia, the United States, and various field visits.
Al-Arada emphasized the significance of these international visits. He stated that they play a crucial role in enhancing cooperation and coordination between the Yemeni Armed Forces and their counterparts in friendly and brotherly nations. These interactions are vital for strengthening military partnerships.
Al-Arada highlighted the necessity of leveraging support from allies to build and enhance the capabilities of the Yemeni Armed Forces. He asserted that this development is essential for fulfilling their national duties, protecting Yemen’s sovereignty, and restoring state institutions. Additionally, he expressed the need for the government to establish control over the entire territory while striving for peace, security, and stability.
He commended the efforts of the Ministry of Defense and the General Staff in institutional development and continuous training of military personnel. Despite the challenging circumstances and significant obstacles facing the nation, these efforts remain steadfast.
In response, Major General bin Azeez presented the results of his discussions with Saudi and U.S. officials. These talks addressed various issues of mutual interest, particularly focusing on enhancing military and security cooperation between Yemen and both Saudi Arabia and the United States.
Bin Azeez noted that the discussions primarily centered on the need to increase support and training programs for the Yemeni Armed Forces. He stressed that these initiatives are crucial for making the Yemeni military an effective partner in maintaining security and stability within Yemen. Furthermore, these efforts aim to secure international shipping routes and address global interests, particularly in combating terrorism and smuggling, with a focus on the threats posed by the Houthi terrorist group.
The collaboration between Yemen and its allies underscores a collective commitment to restoring peace and ensuring the security of the region.
