Military and Security Plans Essential for Stability in Hadhramaut

Hadhramaut Leadership Meeting

Lieutenant General Faraj Al-Bahsani, a member of the Presidential Leadership Council, emphasized the necessity of developing military and security plans during a recent meeting with military and security leaders in Hadhramaut. The meeting took place today and included key figures such as Major General Talib Saeed Barjash, commander of the Second Military Region, and Colonel Mutia Al-Minhali, director of security and police for the Hadhramaut coast. Community leaders, scholars, and respected clerics also attended.

Addressing Political and Economic Challenges

During the meeting, Al-Bahsani discussed the current political landscape and the Council’s efforts to address pressing economic and service-related issues. He highlighted the need for solutions to improve conditions in liberated provinces. Additionally, he mentioned the Council’s initiatives to combat corruption and the legal actions taken against corruption cases.

Condemnation of Houthi Violations

Al-Bahsani condemned the crimes and violations committed by Houthi militias against innocent civilians in their controlled areas. He pointed out the recent arbitrary detention of UN employees and others who remain imprisoned. Furthermore, he noted ongoing piracy in vital waterways, targeting commercial vessels and disrupting international shipping routes under the pretext of supporting the Palestinian cause. He asserted that the Houthis aim to implement the policies of their backers in Tehran, which destabilizes the region.

Call for Vigilance Against Terrorism

The Council member urged the people of Hadhramaut and other liberated provinces to maintain a state of combat readiness. He stressed the importance of recognizing the threat posed by Houthi terrorism and other extremist groups. Al-Bahsani called for heightened vigilance among intelligence and security agencies to monitor and thwart terrorist cells and their hostile plans before they can be executed. He underscored the need to preserve the elite Hadhrami forces, which have showcased Hadhramaut positively to political leadership and the international community. He encouraged unity among military leadership and collaboration among various military and security units.

Preparation for Liberation Anniversary

Al-Bahsani directed the leadership of the Second Military Region to prepare adequately for the anniversary of the liberation of the Hadhramaut coast from Al-Qaeda elements on April 24. He called for celebrations that reflect the significance of this momentous occasion for the people of Hadhramaut.

Support from Military Leadership

The commander of the Second Military Region welcomed Al-Bahsani’s visit and praised his commitment to staying connected with the military leadership. He assured that the directives given during the meeting would be implemented and taken into serious consideration.

This meeting underscores the ongoing commitment of the Presidential Leadership Council to ensure security and stability in Hadhramaut, as well as the broader region.
