Leadership Visit to Shabwa Hospital and University Project

On Wednesday, a significant visit took place in Shabwa as Major General Aidarus al-Zubaidi, a member of the Presidential Leadership Council, inspected the Shabwa General Hospital and the university project in the province.

Hospital Inspection and Healthcare Services

Accompanied by Shabwa Governor Awad bin al-Wazir, Chairman of the Consultation and Reconciliation Commission Mohammed al-Ghaithi, and several government ministers, General al-Zubaidi toured various departments of the hospital. He met with Dr. Ali Amzib, the Director of the Public Health and Population Office, and Dr. Hussein al-Tawil, the hospital director. They discussed the hospital’s equipment and bed capacity, as well as the free medical care provided to local patients and those from neighboring provinces. This care includes major surgeries, complex surgical procedures, and diagnostic endoscopies performed by specialized foreign staff, alongside a local team of experienced and qualified doctors.

Acknowledgment of Support from the UAE

At the conclusion of his hospital tour, General al-Zubaidi praised the humanitarian support from the United Arab Emirates for hospitals and healthcare centers in Shabwa and other liberated provinces. He highlighted the UAE’s efforts to bolster the healthcare sector in Yemen. Additionally, he commended Governor Awad bin al-Wazir for his significant contributions to improving healthcare services in the province and his notable efforts in enhancing and developing health facilities.

University Project Developments

In a related context, General al-Zubaidi also inspected the completed work on the construction of the Shabwa University wall and the main entrance. He received updates from Governor al-Wazir and Dr. Tawfiq Basarda, the university president, regarding the progress of the medical college project within the new university campus. The project, which has a budget of three billion Yemeni riyals, is funded by the local authority in the province.

This visit underscores the ongoing commitment to improving healthcare and educational infrastructure in Shabwa, reflecting the leadership’s dedication to enhancing the quality of life for its citizens.
