In a significant meeting held at the Maasheeq Palace in Aden, Major General Mahmoud Salem Al-Sabihi, a member of the Presidential Leadership Council, met with Major General Shalal Shaea, head of the Counter-Terrorism Unit. This gathering aimed to enhance coordination among military and security agencies to address the challenges and threats to the nation’s security and stability.
During the meeting, Al-Sabihi emphasized that the Presidential Leadership Council prioritizes counter-terrorism efforts. He stated that protecting citizens, safeguarding public and private property, and securing vital installations and international shipping routes are fundamental responsibilities. He also highlighted the importance of strengthening partnerships with the Arab Coalition and regional and international supporters to combat shared threats and reinforce security and stability in the region.
The meeting included a comprehensive review of the current security situation in several provinces, focusing on challenges related to counter-terrorism and organized crime. Participants stressed the need for unified security decisions and enhanced operational coordination. They agreed on the importance of information sharing between the Counter-Terrorism Unit, the Ministries of Defense and Interior, and local security agencies. This collaboration aims to improve readiness and ensure rapid responses to various threats.
Major General Shalal Shaea presented an overview of the Counter-Terrorism Unit’s operations and future plans. He explained that the upcoming phase will focus on enhancing intelligence work and deepening coordination with various security and military agencies. Additionally, the unit plans to expand preventive and preemptive operations to effectively combat terrorism.
This meeting underscores the commitment of the Presidential Leadership Council to address terrorism and ensure the safety and security of the nation.
