Preparations Underway for Summer Camps in Mukalla

Mukalla, Yemen – Today, Saeed Ahmed Al-Khanbashi, a member of the Presidential Leadership Council and the Governor of Hadhramaut, held a meeting with Sheikh Ahmed Al-Saadi, the Director General of the Ministry of Awqaf and Guidance in the Hadhramaut Coast. The discussions focused on the preparations for the upcoming summer camps to be held at several prominent mosques in Mukalla and its surrounding districts during the summer vacation.

Focus on Youth Engagement

During the meeting, Al-Khanbashi reviewed the various programs and activities that will be offered at the summer camps. These initiatives are designed to effectively engage the youth and adolescents, promoting essential religious and national values. The camps aim to enhance community awareness and reinforce the principles of moderation, tolerance, and the rejection of extremism.

Promoting Moderate Religious Discourse

Al-Khanbashi underscored the necessity of intensifying da’wah activities and promoting moderate religious discourse. He pointed out the vital role of imams, preachers, and community leaders in fostering a culture of tolerance and coexistence. Furthermore, he advocated for increased field visits to camps and prisons, which would enhance communication between community committees and those involved in da’wah and guidance. These collective efforts are aimed at bolstering community stability and cohesion.

Improving Administrative Efficiency and Resource Development

In addition, Al-Khanbashi emphasized the importance of improving the standards of administrative and organizational operations within the Awqaf offices. He called for a focus on revenue collection and resource development to ensure the effective and sustainable implementation of their programs and activities.

Sheikh Mohsen Al-Attas, the Director of the Awqaf and Guidance Office in Mukalla, was also in attendance during the meeting.
