Maqreb Governor Emphasizes Military Development

In a recent address, Sultan al-Aradah, a member of the Presidential Leadership Council and Governor of Maqreb, highlighted the importance of establishing a strong and professional national military. He described this initiative as a strategic direction for the state and a long-term national vision. Al-Aradah stressed the need for ongoing training and capacity-building programs, which he considers essential for enhancing the armed forces’ readiness and efficiency.

Ceremony Marks the 18th Leadership and Staff Course

Al-Aradah delivered his remarks during a ceremony on Sunday, where he welcomed the 18th Leadership and Staff Course at the Higher Military Academy in Maqreb. The event saw the attendance of several key figures, including General Staff Chief and Joint Operations Commander, Lieutenant General Sagheer bin Aziz, and various military and security leaders.

Tribute to Fallen Heroes

At the beginning of his speech, al-Aradah conveyed greetings from Dr. Rashad Mohammed Alimi, the President of the Presidential Leadership Council, and expressed appreciation for the efforts of armed forces personnel across various fronts. He paid tribute to the souls of martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the nation and prayed for the recovery of the wounded and the freedom of prisoners.

Commitment to National Defense

Al-Aradah noted that the armed forces have made significant sacrifices in defense of the nation and the republic. He emphasized that honoring these sacrifices requires a commitment to work diligently in establishing the foundations of the state and strengthening its institutions, particularly the military, which should be based on competence, professionalism, discipline, and a strong national ideology.

He reiterated the political leadership’s commitment, represented by President Dr. Rashad Mohammed Alimi, to enhance the capabilities of the armed forces. Lieutenant General Sagheer bin Aziz, Chief of General Staff, announced the opening of the 19th course in line with the political leadership’s directives. He commended Governor al-Aradah for his unwavering support for the operational, combat, logistical, and moral needs of the armed forces.

Quality Assurance in Military Education

The Deputy Head of the Higher Military Academy, Colonel Faisal Shizer, outlined the procedures for applicants, including file reviews, medical examinations, and final tests, emphasizing a commitment to quality. Colonel Sufyan Abdul Rahim, Director of the Leadership and Staff College, expressed confidence that the outcomes of this course would significantly enhance the military institution’s capabilities.

Honorary Degree Awarded

The Higher Military Academy honored Sultan al-Aradah with an honorary Master’s degree in military sciences for his pivotal role in providing continuous support to the armed forces.
