Today, the army successfully thwarted an attack by Houthi militias, backed by the Iranian regime, on military positions east of Al-Hazm in Al-Jawf Governorate.
Engagement Details
A military source informed the Armed Forces Media Center that army heroes engaged armed groups from the Houthi militia as they attempted to advance toward military sites in the desert area east of Al-Jawf. The clashes involved medium and light weapons, as well as drone support. Ultimately, the Houthi elements retreated after suffering casualties, including both dead and wounded, due to the army’s effective fire.
Leadership Praise
Brigadier General Mohammed Bin Rasiah, the Chief of Staff for the Sixth Military Region, commended the vigilance and high capabilities demonstrated by the army during the terrorist attack. He emphasized the importance of maintaining readiness to respond to any emergency under various circumstances.
Context of the Attack
This Houthi assault follows a week after the armed forces in the Sixth Military Region implemented a security deployment plan. This initiative aimed to secure desert routes east of Al-Jawf, extending to the Al-Wadiah crossing. The operation aligns with efforts to enhance regional security and combat smuggling, in accordance with directives from the Ministry of Defense and the General Staff.
