Arab Parliament President Highlights Youth's Role in Sustainable Development

Adel bin Abdulrahman Al-Asoumi, the President of the Arab Parliament, has recently emphasized the crucial role of young people in achieving sustainable development goals within societies. He pointed out that the youth are the backbone and hope of nations, aspiring for a brighter future powered by their energy, capabilities, and skills.

On the occasion of International Youth Day, Al-Asoumi released a statement urging the need to invest in the youth’s potential, develop their abilities and skills, and prepare new generations equipped with the capacity for innovation, creativity, leadership, and responsibility. He affirmed that the progress of nations is significantly measured by their youth, who are the primary drivers of development and construction.

International Youth Day: A Celebration of Youth Contributions

Al-Asoumi considers International Youth Day an excellent opportunity to celebrate the contributions of young people in various fields, both locally and globally. He highlighted that this day shines a light on the efforts made by governments and relevant institutions to focus on the youth by honing their talents, enhancing their capabilities, overcoming obstacles, and providing all necessary resources to support them.

This recognition underscores the importance of the youth in building a sustainable future and the collective responsibility to empower them. The Arab Parliament’s commitment to youth development reflects a broader understanding that the energy and innovation of young people are invaluable assets for societal progress and sustainability.

As nations around the world observe International Youth Day, the message from the Arab Parliament is clear: investing in the youth is investing in the future. Through nurturing their talents and removing barriers to their success, societies can ensure a legacy of innovation, leadership, and sustainable development for generations to come.
