Arab Parliament Delegation to Observe Jordanian Parliamentary Elections

Monitoring Democratic Processes

Under the direction of His Excellency Adel bin Abdulrahman Al-Asoumi, President of the Arab Parliament, an official delegation led by Her Excellency Dr. Ahlam Al-Lafi, Chair of the Social Committee, will participate in observing the parliamentary elections in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan. Scheduled for Tuesday, September 10, 2024, this initiative follows an invitation from His Excellency Engineer Musa Habis Al-Maaytah, President of the Independent Election Commission in Jordan, aimed at overseeing the parliamentary electoral process. The delegation will inspect the election proceedings and monitor procedures across various electoral districts, ensuring a comprehensive understanding of the electoral landscape.

Commitment to Democratic Values

The President of the Arab Parliament expressed the body’s keen interest in closely following constitutional entitlements across Arab states. He emphasized that observing the democratic experiences of Arab countries not only strengthens these processes but also aids in their dissemination and development. Highlighting the parliament’s dedication, he mentioned that at the conclusion of its mission, the Arab Parliament will release a detailed report summarizing observations made during the electoral process.
