An executive matrix has been approved to address Marib’s service and development needs effectively.

A significant meeting chaired by Major General Sultan Al-Arada, a member of the Presidential Leadership Council, and Prime Minister Dr. Ahmed Awad bin Mubarak, resulted in the approval of an executive matrix outlining the essential service and development needs for Mareb Governorate.

Comprehensive Needs Assessment

The approved matrix encompasses a range of critical needs across various sectors, including electricity, water, sewage, higher education, vocational training, and road infrastructure. Additionally, the matrix addresses projects aimed at adapting to climate change, reflecting a holistic approach to the region’s development challenges.

Implementation Focus and Government Commitment

During the meeting, Major General Al-Arada urged the government and local authorities in Mareb to incorporate all observations detailed in the matrix. He emphasized the importance of establishing appropriate plans and mechanisms for implementation, prioritizing urgent needs. Al-Arada also called for clearly defined commitments from both the government and local authorities, along with a specific timeline for executing the outlined projects. Furthermore, he highlighted the need to seek external funding sources for strategic initiatives within the matrix.

Strengthening Coordination Among Authorities

The council member underscored the necessity of enhancing coordination between the government and local authorities in liberated provinces. This collaborative approach aims to address the ongoing challenges faced by these regions during extraordinary circumstances.

Prime Minister’s Visit to Mareb

Prime Minister bin Mubarak’s recent visit to Mareb is expected to facilitate the resolution of several outstanding issues and create effective mechanisms for addressing them. This visit aims to improve the quality of basic services provided to citizens and internally displaced persons, as Mareb currently hosts over 62% of Yemen’s total displaced population.

Positive Outlook for Development and Security

Expressing his satisfaction with the high morale and active development efforts observed in Mareb, Prime Minister bin Mubarak stated that the visit is not merely ceremonial. Instead, it represents a commitment to share the responsibility with local authorities, who have shouldered the burden alone in recent times.

“We agreed on a set of mechanisms addressing key issues, including military, services, and revenue matters. This will be organized into a chronic matrix for implementation, transforming it into a genuine action plan that makes citizens feel part of this significant project,” bin Mubarak noted.

Government Support for Local Initiatives

The Prime Minister commended the efforts of local leaders and officials, acknowledging their substantial work under challenging conditions to serve the population. He assured that the government would support the execution of all plans and programs aimed at ensuring the stability of service, development, and security conditions in Mareb, which serves as a model in this regard.

Commitment to National Integrity

Bin Mubarak expressed pride in the capabilities of Mareb’s armed forces and security personnel, reinforcing the belief among Yemenis that victory over Iranian-backed Houthi militias is imminent. He reaffirmed that Mareb would continue to be a bastion of the republic and a guardian of the national project.

The meeting included several key ministers, such as Minister of Information and Culture Muammar Al-Eryani, Minister of Finance Salem bin Brik, Minister of Interior Major General Ibrahim Haidan, and Minister of Water and Environment Engineer Tawfiq Al-Sharjabi, among others. Their presence underscored the collaborative effort to address Mareb’s pressing needs.
