The Chargé d’Affaires of the Republic of Yemen to the United Nations Office in Nairobi, Abdul Salam Al-Awdi, met today with Inger Andersen, the United Nations Under-Secretary-General and Executive Director of the United Nations Environment Programme. They discussed ways to enhance funding for developmental and environmental projects in Yemen.
Addressing Maritime and Environmental Risks
Al-Awdi highlighted the severe risks posed by the Houthi militia to international navigation and the marine environment in the Red Sea and Bab al-Mandab. He also pointed out the ongoing violations against civilians and the arbitrary detention of United Nations staff.
Commitment to Support Yemen
