On Wednesday, Agriculture and Fisheries Minister Salem Al-Suqtri and Civil Service Minister Dr. Abdul-Nasser Al-Wali, accompanied by Adam Yao, the acting representative of the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) in Yemen, visited several new buildings and construction facilities at the Agricultural Complex in Dar Saad, Aden.
During the visit, the officials, along with Aden’s Local Council Secretary General Badr Ma’oun, assessed the progress of the new Central Veterinary Laboratory project. This initiative, developed in collaboration with the FAO, aims to enhance veterinary services in the region. Additionally, they inspected the National Center for Desert Locust Control, the General Administration for Agricultural Guidance and Animal Health, and the Agriculture and Irrigation Office.
Minister Al-Suqtri emphasized that these strategic projects represent a significant step toward strengthening the agricultural sector’s infrastructure and institutional framework. He highlighted agriculture as one of Yemen’s most vital production sectors, crucial for food security and the national economy. Al-Suqtri praised the strong partnership with the FAO, acknowledging its pivotal role in supporting agricultural and developmental projects.
The inspection underscores the commitment of the Yemeni government to improve agricultural facilities and services, ensuring a sustainable future for the sector. The collaboration with international organizations like the FAO plays a critical role in achieving these goals.
