The Governor of Taiz, Nabil Shamsan, emphasized the significance of the general structural plan for Al-Mokha city, describing it as one of the most crucial projects currently underway in the province. He noted that Al-Mokha serves as the western gateway to Yemen, making its development vital for the region and its residents.
During a workshop organized by the monitoring committee for the “Master Plan” of Al-Mokha, Governor Shamsan stated that discussing the findings of the implementing company and incorporating feedback from specialists would enhance the project’s vision. This collaborative approach aims to address all observations, ultimately revitalizing the historic city and enhancing its global reputation. He identified the project as a significant gain for the province, given Al-Mokha’s unique coastal strip, port, and international airport.
The governor stressed the importance of comprehensive planning for the surrounding areas and the integrated development of these strategic projects. He called for a more complete plan that includes the districts of Dhubab, Mawza, and Al-Wazi’ah, recognizing their strategic depth and connection to Al-Mokha. This holistic approach aims to ensure the plan serves future needs effectively.
Governor Shamsan praised the support provided by member of the Presidential Leadership Council, Brigadier General Tariq Saleh. He acknowledged Saleh’s keen interest and broad vision for the region and its four districts, highlighting the need for development in this western gateway to Yemen and the province.
Engineer Rashad Al-Akhali, the deputy governor and head of the monitoring committee for the structural plan, outlined the workshop’s agenda, which focuses on the company’s progress and the stages achieved in the “Master Plan” for Al-Mokha. He noted that significant strides have been made in the execution of the plan. Al-Akhali emphasized that this planning initiative is essential for organized development, ensuring stability, security, and enhancing the region’s infrastructure and investment appeal.
This comprehensive approach to urban planning in Al-Mokha aims to create a sustainable future for the city and its inhabitants, reinforcing its position as a pivotal area in Yemen’s development strategy.
