President Alimi Addresses Recent Government Statements
A senior source from the Presidential Office has confirmed that President Dr. Rashad Mohammed Alimi, head of the Presidential Leadership Council, is closely monitoring recent statements made by various ministers and executive officials. These statements, which reflect political positions, fall outside their official responsibilities and do not align with the constitutional and legal frameworks governing the transitional phase and state institutions.
Legal and Administrative Actions Required
The source indicated that President Alimi has directed the government and relevant authorities to take all necessary legal and administrative measures against any violations that threaten decision-making unity or attempt to impose policies outside constitutional boundaries. The President emphasized the importance of protecting the legal status of the state, maintaining the unity of its institutions, and safeguarding citizens’ interests.
Strict Compliance with Transitional Frameworks
The President’s directives require all executive officials to adhere strictly to the decisions of the Presidential Leadership Council, the government program, and the transitional frameworks, including the power transfer declaration and the Riyadh Agreement.
Authority of the Presidential Leadership Council
The source further stated that the legitimate political leadership, recognized nationally, regionally, and internationally through the Presidential Leadership Council, is the sole authority responsible for determining the state’s high political positions. Therefore, any misuse of power or official position for political gain constitutes a serious violation of the constitution, law, and public service duties. Such actions threaten the legal status of the state, undermine executive authority, and jeopardize national consensus, warranting legal accountability and punishment for offenders.
Call for Dialogue and Unity
In this context, President Alimi has urged partners within the Southern Transitional Council to prioritize wisdom and dialogue. He stressed the need to protect the Yemeni people and the country’s higher interests from unprecedented threats, while also preserving the gains achieved over recent years with support from the Saudi-led coalition. This includes safeguarding the just cause of the Southern issue.
Rallying for National Statehood
The President also called on all political components and the Yemeni people to unite around the vision of a desired national state. He urged everyone to mobilize efforts towards restoring state institutions, defeating the Iran-backed Houthi militia, and alleviating the prolonged humanitarian suffering.
