A thought-provoking seminar titled “The Danger of Houthi Ideology on Social Fabric and Regional Security” took place today in Marib Governorate. The event, organized by the Office of Awqaf and Guidance, attracted a diverse group of scholars, preachers, politicians, and educators.
Hassan Al-Qubaisi, the Director of the Office of Awqaf and Guidance, emphasized the need for a comprehensive intellectual and awareness campaign to combat the Iranian-backed Houthi militias. He highlighted the importance of utilizing various media and communication channels alongside military action. Al-Qubaisi warned about the dangerous racial concepts propagated by Houthi ideology, which threaten to create divisions and conflicts within society.
Al-Qubaisi pointed out that the world increasingly recognizes the true nature of the Houthi militias. He stated that they do not represent a legitimate Yemeni faction but serve as an extension of the Iranian regime in Yemen. He stressed that their threat extends beyond Yemen, posing risks to neighboring countries and international maritime routes.
The seminar featured an enlightening lecture by researcher Abdulmalik Al-Hadhouri. He discussed the core tenets of Houthi ideology, its historical background, and its detrimental effects on Yemeni society. Al-Hadhouri noted that this ideology fosters racial concepts and practices that deepen societal divisions and weaken social cohesion. He underscored the critical role of scholars and preachers in raising awareness and promoting values of citizenship, coexistence, and moderation.
The seminar included engaging discussions and interventions that stressed the importance of enhancing community awareness to counter destructive ideologies. Participants agreed that fostering values of coexistence, moderation, and brotherhood is essential for protecting social fabric and promoting security and stability.
This seminar serves as a vital platform for addressing the challenges posed by extremist ideologies and reinforcing the importance of unity and resilience in society.
