A recent human rights report has revealed that Houthi militias committed 80 violations in Taiz, a province in southwestern Yemen, between April 1 and June 2025. The report, published by the Information and Rehabilitation Center for Human Rights, is titled “Taiz: Between Diseases, Bombardment, and Siege.”
The report highlights six murders, including a child and a woman, alongside 21 injuries. Among the injured, eight children and two women suffered from the militia’s gunfire and landmines. Tragically, some victims experienced severe injuries that led to amputations, resulting in their classification as persons with disabilities.
Additionally, the report documented nine kidnapping cases and one assault carried out by the militias during the same period. These incidents contribute to the ongoing climate of fear and instability in the region.
The report also details 43 violations against private property. This includes damage to 28 homes partially and five homes completely, as well as six vehicles due to Houthi shelling. Furthermore, the report notes incidents of home invasions, where militias ransacked furniture, and the destruction of a house and an arms depot. Livestock losses also occurred, adding to the community’s distress.
This report underscores the urgent need for international attention and intervention in Taiz. The ongoing violence and human rights violations continue to devastate the lives of innocent civilians in the region.
