Meeting Discusses Progress on Fishing Port Project in Aden

A meeting held today in Aden, the temporary capital of Yemen, focused on the progress of the Fishing Port and Docking Center project. The Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries, and Irrigation, Salem Al-Saqtri, chaired the session, which aimed to evaluate the project’s development funded by the German Ministry of Economic Cooperation and Development through the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP).

Key Participants and Project Oversight

The meeting included key figures such as Ghazi Lahmar, the Undersecretary for Fish Production and Marketing Services, and Dr. Abdul Salam Ahmed, the President of the General Authority for Fisheries in the Gulf of Aden. They reviewed the work of the technical team responsible for overseeing the project’s technical studies and construction activities. The discussion also addressed the team’s commitments to monitor the project’s progress in collaboration with funding and implementing agencies. Participants identified challenges and proposed solutions to address any issues that may arise during the execution of fisheries sector projects.

Minister Al-Saqtri emphasized the project’s significance as a cornerstone for enhancing the infrastructure of the fisheries sector.
