Youth Empowerment Project Meeting Held in Aden

A meeting convened today in Aden, the temporary capital of Yemen, under the leadership of Minister of Youth and Sports, Naif Saleh Al-Bakri. The primary focus of the meeting was the action plan for the “Youth Working Group” project, set to launch at the end of October.

Key Participants and Discussions

The gathering included Dr. Munir Mani, the Undersecretary for the Youth Sector, Dr. Hassan Abdul-Rab, head of the technical office, and various directors from the general administrations within the sector. Participants reviewed the steps and measures taken by the Youth Sector, including ongoing meetings and upcoming field visits. They also discussed coordination efforts with other entities in preparation for the project’s launch.

Youth Empowerment Strategy and National Conference

The meeting further addressed the “Youth Empowerment” project, which aims to develop a strategy funded by United Nations agencies in partnership with UNICEF. This initiative will culminate in a national youth conference involving numerous relevant stakeholders.

Collaboration with UNESCO and Digital Empowerment

Participants also examined the final arrangements for signing a memorandum of understanding with UNESCO. This collaboration seeks to enhance efforts in digital empowerment and includes activities for Media Literacy Week, scheduled from October 24 to 31.

Conclusion and Future Cooperation

At the conclusion of the meeting, Minister Al-Bakri emphasized the importance of organizing and coordinating these initiatives. He highlighted the need to strengthen collaboration with both governmental and non-governmental entities, fostering exceptional relationships to benefit youth and meet their aspirations.

The “Youth Working Group” serves as a coordinating body led by the Ministry of Youth and Sports. It comprises government partners, international and local organizations, and embassies. The group aims to streamline youth activities through a unified coordination mechanism, ultimately enhancing the impact of youth projects in the future.
