On Saturday morning, 26-year-old Abdul Latif Hassan Abdullah sustained injuries from a Houthi sniper in the Al-Maqbana district, located in western Taiz Governorate. The incident occurred while he was passing through the village of Al-Naba’a in the Hamir area, where the sniper was positioned on the Al-Barmani hill. Local sources reported that the sniper’s bullets struck his legs. Emergency responders transported him to a nearby hospital for treatment.
This incident follows the tragic death of 63-year-old citizen Taha Ahmed Abdullah Al-Hakimi, who was killed while performing the Fajr prayer in the Al-Kilabah neighborhood. A Houthi sniper, stationed at the Central Security Camp, targeted him during the early morning hours.
The Houthi militia continues to commit systematic violations against civilians in both the city and rural areas of Taiz. These violations include sniper attacks and indiscriminate shelling, exacerbated by a suffocating blockade that has persisted for over a decade. This ongoing conflict significantly worsens the humanitarian crisis and poses daily threats to the lives of local residents.
