A 14-year-old girl and a 22-year-old woman sustained injuries from an artillery attack launched by Houthi militants on civilian homes in the Al-Maqbana district of Taiz Governorate. Local sources report that the militants targeted a residence in the Al-Jubayyah village within the Al-Qahifah area, resulting in shrapnel wounds for both victims.
The artillery strike caused significant damage to the targeted home, in addition to injuring the two individuals. Emergency responders transported the victims to a local health center for necessary medical treatment. As these attacks escalate, civilians continue to bear the brunt of the ongoing military escalation by Houthi forces.
This recent bombardment is part of a series of repeated assaults by Houthi militants on residential neighborhoods and villages in the besieged Taiz Governorate. These attacks increasingly result in civilian casualties, raising concerns about the safety of the local population. Taiz has endured a prolonged siege, exacerbating the suffering of its residents and heightening the demand for humanitarian assistance.
These tragic incidents renew both international and local calls for an end to hostilities and the protection of civilians. The ongoing strikes on residential areas highlight the urgent need for peace and stability in the region. The current situation demands collective efforts from all parties involved to achieve a peaceful resolution that alleviates civilian suffering and ensures their fundamental rights.
