Governor of Hajjah discusses with UNHCR chief support for liberated areas in the province.

In a recent meeting in Aden, Hajja Governor Major General Abdul Karim Al-Sanini met with Mohammed Rafiq Nasri, the head of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) office. The two officials focused on strategies to support liberated areas in Hajja Governorate and provide essential humanitarian aid to local residents facing dire living conditions exacerbated by the ongoing humanitarian crisis.

Pregnant women face life-threatening challenges, as many cannot reach necessary cesarean operations, resulting in tragic outcomes for both mothers and infants. Furthermore, flooding has compounded these issues by destroying homes and further limiting economic resources, leaving local markets and trade virtually non-existent.

Al-Sanini emphasized the urgent need for enhanced cooperation between local authorities and humanitarian organizations. This partnership aims to create an effective response to the pressing needs in Hajja’s liberated areas and alleviate the suffering of the residents.
