Yemen Welcomes Joint Statement from Foreign Ministers of Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Turkey, and Pakistan
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates of Yemen has expressed its approval of the joint statement issued following the meeting of the foreign ministers of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the Arab Republic of Egypt, the Republic of Turkey, and the Islamic Republic of Pakistan in Istanbul on October 23, 2026. The statement explicitly condemned the Houthi escalation and attacks on the Kingdom and international navigation, while affirming full solidarity with the Republic of Yemen and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
Support for Yemen’s Government
The ministry praised the positions of the four countries that support the Yemeni government’s efforts to fulfill its constitutional responsibilities. These responsibilities include restoring state institutions, protecting citizens, safeguarding Yemen’s sovereignty and unity, and ensuring the security of international navigation. This support is based on the three agreed-upon references at local, regional, and international levels, which include the Gulf Initiative and its executive mechanism, the outcomes of the Comprehensive National Dialogue Conference, and relevant United Nations Security Council resolutions, particularly Resolution 2216.
