Yemen Stands in Solidarity with Saudi Arabia Following Houthi Attack
President Dr. Rashad Mohammed Alimi, head of the Presidential Leadership Council, expressed the full solidarity of the Republic of Yemen with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, its leadership, government, and people. He strongly condemned the cowardly Houthi terrorist attack that targeted King Khalid International Airport, resulting in several fatalities and hundreds of injuries from various nationalities.
Condolences and Support for Victims
In a statement, President Alimi, on behalf of himself, the members of the Presidential Leadership Council, the government, and the Yemeni people, extended heartfelt condolences and sympathy to the leadership and people of Saudi Arabia, as well as to the families of the victims. He wished a swift recovery for the injured.
Houthi Terrorism and Regional Security
The President emphasized in a post on the platform “X” that this attack reflects the terrorist behavior of the Houthi militias and their disregard for civilian lives, regional security, and the interests of the Yemeni people. He stated, “The security of the Kingdom and the security of Yemen, along with the interests of both peoples, are interconnected.” He considered any attack on the Kingdom as an attack on Yemen’s security, interests, and the future of its generations.
Commitment to Combat Terrorism
President Alimi reiterated the joint determination to advance the “Dawn of Yemen” operation to eliminate the terrorist threat and restore state institutions, regardless of the sacrifices required.
Acknowledgment of Saudi Support
The President acknowledged the noble fraternal positions of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and its ongoing support for the Yemeni economy. He highlighted Saudi efforts to alleviate humanitarian suffering, including recent support for the state budget and announced facilities to regularize the status of Yemeni residents in Saudi Arabia.
