Yemen’s Diplomatic Efforts in Hungary Address Humanitarian Crisis
The Chargé d’Affaires of the Yemeni Embassy in Hungary, Ahmed Naji, met today with the Head of the “Hungary Helps” program, Éva Zofia, to discuss the developments surrounding the humanitarian crisis in Yemen and explore ways to support efforts aimed at alleviating its impacts.
Humanitarian Crisis and Displacement
During the meeting, Naji highlighted the humanitarian crisis resulting from the military escalation by the Houthi militia. He pointed out the forced displacement affecting many provinces as people seek safer locations. Furthermore, he noted the continuous rise in the number of displaced individuals and the immense pressure on host communities, emphasizing the widening gap between humanitarian needs and available resources.
Documentation of Violations
Naji provided the Hungarian official with several documents related to forced displacement and the violations committed by the Houthi militia against civilians. He detailed the militia’s targeting of service and humanitarian facilities and the repercussions of these actions on the population.
