Workshop on Referee Evaluation and Development Kicks Off in Sayun
The city of Sayun in Hadhramaut Governorate hosted the opening of a workshop focused on evaluating and developing referees today. This event, organized by the Yemeni Football Association through the High Referees Committee, features the participation of 26 referees who officiated matches in the General League and the Republic Cup for the 2025-2026 sports season.
Workshop Duration and Activities
The workshop will last for three days and includes physical training, theoretical lectures, and practical sessions. Topics covered will focus on positioning, refereeing situations, common mistakes, and methods for addressing these errors. Additionally, the workshop will analyze referees’ performances and provide lectures on physical preparation. It will also conduct tests for referees aiming to obtain the international badge for 2027.
Goals of the Workshop
Ahmad Saif, the head of the High Referees Committee, stated that the workshop aims to assess referees’ levels, refine their skills, and enhance their physical fitness. He noted that this workshop follows a previous session held in Sana’a, which included 36 referees, bringing the total number of participants across both workshops to 60 referees.
